The Animal Care Society is a private, NO-KILL shelter/adoption agency for dogs, cats, puppies and kittens. 

Individuals and families wishing to adopt an animal must visit the shelter and fill out an application. If the adoption pertains to a dog, any current dogs residing in the prospective home must also visit the shelter to ensure compatibility. 

Applications are reviewed and references are checked to ensure that the best possible and most suitable placement is made for each animal. 

Adoption fees are as follow:   

Puppies and Kittens:  Adoption fees begin at $90 and up plus a mandatory $60 voucher payment towards a spay or neuter

Dogs:  Adoption fees begin at $150 and up plus Jefferson County license fee when applicable

Cats:  Adoption fees begin at $130 and up plus Jefferson County license fee when applicable

NOTE:  Pure-bred adult dog and adult cat adoption fees begin at $200.00 and up plus Jefferson County license fee when applicable

Payment to register HOME AGAIN microchip is also required at the time of adoption.  Current registration fee is $14.99.
